Who do I contact for general questions about EH&S training?

Contact the training program manager or call the EH&S Training line at extension 45328.

What EH&S training am I required to take?

Training requirements depend on the nature of work being done. Employees, students, and supervisors/Principal Investigators (PIs) should select training courses based on the types of hazards that may be encountered.  Everyone must be properly trained before beginning their work, given new assignments, or when new hazards are introduced.

If you work in a laboratory, you are required to take the Laboratory Safety Fundamental Concepts class offered by EH&S, plus additional classes specific to the hazards in your laboratory. This requirement applies to visiting and/or part-time researchers. Laboratory safety training from other institutions or universities does not substitute for UCLA lab safety training. See the Lab Safety Training Matrix, available in the Related Information section to the right, for more information.

How do I register for training classes?

Register for courses at Worksafe.ucla.edu, our online learning management system. Here you can view the current training schedule, register for training and complete online training.

Where is my class located?

Our classes are held in various buildings around campus. If you are unfamiliar with the location, review the Training Locations (PDF) or look up the building on the UCLA Interactive Campus Map

Where can I get a record of the training classes I have already completed?

Login to Worksafe.ucla.edu. Once logged in go to: My Transcript on the left hand menu to view your records. You can print certificates or press the print icon by the search bar to print the full record.
