Bake Sales Allowed Locations:

Bake sales are allowed at the following locations on campus:

  • Bruin Walk - uphill areas with brown tables: no prior space reservation needed
  • CHS Courtyard (aka Health Sciences Courtyard): no prior space reservation needed
  • Bruin Plaza: near the bear: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)
  • Court of Sciences: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)
  • Student Activities Center Lounge: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)

Student Organizations holding bake sales at UCLA must obtain prior approval from their SOLE/departmental advisor and food safety permit from Environmental Health Program (EHP). Bake sales held on Bruin Walk only can be approved with a Bake Sale permit through SOLE.

Make Sure Your Items are Approved for Sale

Only Non-PHF (Non–Potentially Hazardous Food) items are allowed for bake sales on Bruin Walk. These are shelf‑stable foods that do not require refrigeration or time/temperature control to prevent bacterial growth. Perishable items—including dairy, meat, cooked vegetables, and moist cooked grains—are not permitted.

Approved Items:

  • Candy
  • Cookies
  • Pan dulces
  • Baklava
  • Bottled or canned drinks
  • Muffins
  • other baked items that do not require heating or refrigeration

Not Approved:

  • Cheese rolls
  • Potato balls
  • Bagels with cream cheese
  • Boba
  • Pizza
  • Scooped ice cream
  • Tamales
