Bake Sales Allowed Locations:
Bake sales are allowed at the following locations on campus:
- Bruin Walk - uphill areas with brown tables: no prior space reservation needed
- CHS Courtyard (aka Health Sciences Courtyard): no prior space reservation needed
- Bruin Plaza: near the bear: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)
- Court of Sciences: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)
- Student Activities Center Lounge: prior reservation needed through EOL process (see Special Events page)
Student Organizations holding bake sales at UCLA must obtain prior approval from their SOLE/departmental advisor and food safety permit from Environmental Health Program (EHP). Bake sales held on Bruin Walk only can be approved with a Bake Sale permit through SOLE.
Make Sure Your Items are Approved for Sale
Only Non-PHF (Non–Potentially Hazardous Food) items are allowed for bake sales on Bruin Walk. These are shelf‑stable foods that do not require refrigeration or time/temperature control to prevent bacterial growth. Perishable items—including dairy, meat, cooked vegetables, and moist cooked grains—are not permitted.
Approved Items:
- Candy
- Cookies
- Pan dulces
- Baklava
- Bottled or canned drinks
- Muffins
- other baked items that do not require heating or refrigeration
Not Approved:
- Cheese rolls
- Potato balls
- Bagels with cream cheese
- Boba
- Pizza
- Scooped ice cream
- Tamales
